Reviews should be up soon, though this week I’m dividing my time between the usual updates and working on the next project for AMPjam. However, as the whole thing is nearing it’s completion, it’s about time to explain what it’s all about. Think of this as an anti-blog, instead of bilious ranting from a dwarf, you get actual information of the site, let’s hope this doesn’t cause the world to explode… actually, it should be alright as these developments are important, but still rather minor.
The idea was inspired by the fact that if a promoter wishes to use some photos, it would take time to actually go through all the articles to find the shots, even with using the searchbar function, so I needed a way to incorporate an easy-to-use system onto the site. This then crossed over into another idea I had a while back, making short profiles for venues to display information.
This project brings both of these elements together, effectively forming a hub for promoters where you can look at information from past gigs, contact details, overviews on the venues themselves and a variety of shots from past gigs. These will, of course, bulk up over time as the venues get more coverage and so-on.
You can see what I’m aiming for by checking out the current state of the profiles of Annotazioni and The Pitz , though there’s still some work to do on these pages. The work involved on these involves a lot of photo-tagging, page creations, information input and so-on, but trust me, it will make the whole site a lot better once it’s complete!
In fact, the only thing these pages will be missing are gig listings, (WordPress can be a bit offputting to outsiders who try to put in information) but seeing that we cover the weekly gig-listings anyway, it shouldn’t be much of a problem, though if you have any ideas of what to add, I always have a open ear/e-mail box.
These profiles should be finished this weekend, fingers crossed, so we’ll be back on the usual schedule asap.
