Craufurd Arms, Wolverton,  8.00pm, free entry

Ran by some of the guys of the open mic circuit, Chris Dobbs and Garry Murphy host some live tunes in Wolverton’s local watering hole. Get in early for a good slot, grab a guitar and let the good times roll. 

Bite Nights

Revolutions, Xcape, 9.00pm, £2.50 entry

Alternative nights every Monday night at Revolutions at Xcape, not just “indie”, electro or rock but a mish-mash of everything you like, love or simply relish. Keep an eye out for the various theme nights and let the weekend extend.

Thursday:

Sunset Lounge

The Cannon, Newport Pagnell, 8.00pm, free entry

One of the longest running open mic gigs, hosted by the Jeff & co. Entry is totally free, as is the feel of the night itself. Grab a guitar, grab a pint and jam to the smell of incense. Turn up at 8.00pm to grab a good slot and enjoy the night.

Backstage Productions

Mess Hall, Stantonbury Campus, 7.30pm, £2.50 entry

Monthly gigs organised and hosted by the students and teachers at Stantonbury Campus. Showcasing a range of local bands for an audience for all ages and supporting young bands just beaking into the local scene.

Club KKBB

Opus, Theatre District, 9.00pm, £2.00 entry

The KKBB crew have been putting on gigs and tunes for a while, currently making their home down at Opus and spinning indie/alternative sounds every Thursday. Keep an eye out for the off band night and theme nights too.

Underpass Promotions

Through the past year, Underpass Promotions have become one of the main places to go for gigs on the weekend with a range of  large acts and local names, check their gig listings for dates, times and entry.

The Pitz

Woughton Centre, Woughton, 7.30pm, entry varies

Milton Keynes’ longest running venue, putting on a huge variety of acts from local bands through tributes to larger touring acts. Gigs usually run on the weekend with some exceptions. Check out their gig listings for prices and dates.

Wreck Your Life Promotions

Craufurd Arms, Wolverton, times and entry vary.

Supplying the local doses of hardcore with bands by the dozen. Currently making their home at the Craufurd, gig’s showcase plently of heavy acts on monthly shows, check their gig listings for more information.

Sno! Jam!

Sno! Bar, Xcape, 8.00pm, free entry

Another free-entry open mic lounge with a backdrop of snowy slopes (albeit man-made) there’s not much better than chilling out for the last few hours of the weekend to play or listen in an informal atmosphere, just turn up at 8.00pm.
