So, making a change from talking about videogames, I though about maybe writing about old bands that were once part of the scene and for some reason have faded out a little. First up are a troupe spawned from “Odd Man Out”, named Our Man In The Bronze Age, five guys in robes, “bronze” masks and barefoot with a lineup that tended to change over time behind the facades.

OMITBA, MK post rock legends behind the MKT stage.

(Back in 2008, MK Theatre had a bit of an event on early in the year showcasing a bit of local music, the article was first posted back on Omninja.com and after remembering the awesome end to the gig, it’s now back onto the AMPjam archives)

Something’s on at the Theatre, something a bit different. Little acts sparking off here and there amongst the tours and workshops, one certain area has me interested today though, the Garden Room (usually for the VIPs) has been opened up into a bit of a cosy space with chairs and sofas surrounding an open stage, it’s here where most of the live music will be and where I will spend most of the time munching on the popcorn, taking snaps and writing notes. Along the way are some friendly familiar faces, some wonderfully distracting workshops and acting pieces and a snack bar with everything half-price, ladies and gents, welcome to MKT!

09-06-08.pngContinuing our dive back into the normal gigs, Annotazioni are back at the Crauford once again with a lineup I can’t really resist despite the weather. mk4u2-thumb.png It’s day two of MK4U 2008 and it is muggy as hell, but a veggie burger and hot chocolate soon sort things out and I make my way to the Create Tent for some live bands The lineup is decidedly more chilled out this time around, leaning towards a few alternative and acoustic acts that seem to compensate for the amount of metal bands on yesterday, fingers crossed both the weather and the music turn out alright on this not-so-summery day.

aversos.png Now, this is a tricky one, writing about a Bronze Age gig is relatively okay, there’s nothing really hard about it, but when I received a Cd saying “Aversos Compono Animos, requires excessive volume!!!” I really started to worry, this isn’t a gig where something could go better or worse than usual, this is THE OMITBA album.Well, first things first, in true Bronze style, the Cd just has one gigantic track, lasting a little over fourty minutes and like any set, it begins with a wall of feedback that gives in to the main riff of the masterpiece.
